What is SGA?

The Student Governing Association represents all full-time and part-time undergraduate students at Kansas State University Salina.

"The students of Kansas State University Salina, united in the belief that the goals of a democratic community can be furthered only by the citizenship habits, attitudes, skills, and knowledge acquired through experience; and that the degree of student development is likely to parallel closely the extent of responsibility which students carry for their own society, do hereby adopt this Constitution for the Kansas State University Salina Student Governing Association (K-State Salina SGA Constitution)."

K-State Salina encourages students to participate in the governance of the campus community. One avenue for this participation is through the election of student leaders. The elected representatives of the student body include the Student Government Association President, Vice-President, and Senators from each of the academic fields on campus.

The Senate meets weekly to discuss and address issues of campus concern. Weekly meetings are open to all students and faculty, as well as the entire K-State Salina community. Everyone is encouraged to attend, to voice opinions, or to listen and observe.

  • Paint Salina Purple

Paint Salina purple is the slogan initiated by the 2011-2012 Student Government President and Vice President.

As part of outreaching and networking to the Salina community, SGA is implementing new ways to educate those who are unaware of the breakthroughs and advances occurring on the K-State Salina campus.
